The random name selector allows you to enter your students’ names and then spin up a random name. This is a great tool for classroom games or prompting students to answer questions.
You can try it right now by clicking on the ‘Random name selector’ in the Tools menu.
The random name selector comes with four themes:
- Hero Selector
- Victim Selector
- Lucky Dip
- Default theme
Along with themes, you can also set the spin duration.
Once a student is selected, you have the option to remove them from the list to ensure their name isn’t chosen again.
Hi I have tried saving this resource (as per previous comment) but it's not working. Please could I have a step by step? Julie
Hi, The 'remover' button doesn't work. It removes some names but other names come out over and over again.
would also love to have the option to draw two names at a time! that would be handy
hi... is there a way to use the selector without being logged in to teacher starter as i don't want to leave it logged on when my computer is communal? thanks
Hi Lisac825, You certainly can use it while not logged in. Simply visit this page: https://www.teachstarter.com/random-name-selector/ If you would like to save your name list, you need to login. Unfortunately we can't draw two at a time at this stage, however that's a great suggestion! Kind regards, Scott
you can only save one list, I have 12 different classes!
How can I save it? so that I don't have to enter my kids names every time?
Hi Jessie, If you're logged in to your account, you can now save your names. Simply refresh the page. Kind regards, Scott
