Sorry if this is obvious. Are the fractions supposed to relate to each other? I guess I am asking how do you compile the booklet. Or is it simply halves is 2 pieces, quarters is four pieces and the ‘flip’ part just gives a more tangible feel for the student? Thanks Alison

Hi Alison,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, the headings under each image of a pizza are meant to relate to the fraction. The cutting up of each fraction page gives your students a hands-on activity to help them understand fractions further.

I have included a short video that we shared on our Instagram page of this resource in action. You should be able to view it above.

Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Kind regards,
Holly

Thank you for the update. I previously created the booklet with a year 2 class without the whole pizza and it was great, because they were told to draw their own whole pizza. This allowed me as the teacher to assess them of their understanding of what a whole pizza looks like by creating their own.

For some reason, the whole pizza is not showing up when I download the file.

Thank you. I am now able to print it perfectly.

Elizabeth Laws · Aug 31st, 2016

I would love to use this resource but for some reason when I print resources from this website I cannot print the dotted lines. This has happened with a number of resources over a number of printers. Why would this be happening?
Thanks

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you for your comment. After an hour of tearing our hair out trying to work out what was causing this issue, we finally cracked the case!

It turns out that it is a bug affecting pdf files printed from Google Chrome on a PC. According to the Chrome forum, this issue will be fixed within the next few weeks in the next release of Google Chrome (version 53).

As a temporary work around, please download the file, then open and print it in Adobe Reader. You can download Adobe Reader for free here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/

If you have any further questions, please let me know and we will be happy to help!

Kind regards,
Scott
