Teaching Resource
Line and Feeling Sorting Activity - F to Year 2
A fun sorting activity for students to explore interpretation of line in visual art.
Use this teaching resource when studying the Elements of Visual Art and how artists communicate meaning. Students investigate the idea that line can express a particular mood, emotion or atmosphere. The activity has been designed to provoke discussion about interpretation.
Print, cut and laminate the Line Cards (1 set for each group) and Feeling Cards (1 set for the teacher). Allow the students to sort the Line Cards by matching illustrations of lines to the Feeling Card which is displayed and read by the teacher.
Further instructions are included with the resource.
