2 pages|Grades: 1 - 5

A poster with information about the history of Mother’s Day.

Poster content sample:

Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring mothers, grandmothers and maternal figures, and their role in our communities.

Mother’s Day was originally celebrated in the United States in 1908. It was started by a woman named Anna Jarvis who held a memorial for her mother, and began a campaign to recognise Mother’s Day as a special holiday.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on different dates around the world. In most countries the Mother’s Day holiday evolved from the United States tradition and is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May every year.
