Add & Subtract Fractions with Different Denominators
This activity helps students learn the process of writing solutions to fraction problems. Students will fill in the blanks in numerical solutions that are already set up. The first few problems have fewer blanks. By the end of the activity, students fill in most of the solution.

Use during guided maths, as a teacher-facilitated activity with the whole class, during tutoring or intervention, with small groups or in centres.
This activity includes clear and concise teacher directions, an example, an answer key and conversation starters that give students what they need to have meaningful academic discussions.
