Early Years Learning Pack

PDF | 23 pages|Grades: F - Reception

A collection of worksheets and activities for preschool students.

This pack is loaded with fun play-based activities that we hope your child will love. Our hope is that your child will develop their fine motor skills, cutting skills, and explore feelings and emotions as well as build confidence and independence with both self-help and self-care tasks. Through these engaging sensory activities, this Early Learning Pack also introduces letter and number recognition, one to one counting and
shapes.

Shapes
Learning basic shapes is made fun with these playdough mats. Roll and mould each side of the shape and explore why each shape is different. How many edges does a triangle have? How many sides does a rectangle have? You can also use paddle pop sticks in place of playdough.

Number & Playdough Mats
These number cards are brilliant for playdough time as well as tracing opportunities. Children can practise number formation by tracing and/or making the numbers with playdough, counting and colouring and identifying numbers in a lineup.

Emotions Card
Use the table of faces at the bottom of this page to create different emotions using playdough or pencils/crayon. This is a great activity that
encourages mindfulness and self-awareness of emotions.

Tracing Lines
This simple activity is of great importance. Tracing lines strengthens muscles that are important for fine motor and develops prewriting skills
so children learn to control a pencil whilst making formations.

Brushing Teeth
A brilliant activity about self-care…and it will make teeth cleaning so much more fun! If you have laminated this card, draw on the germs with a whiteboard marker and use a spare toothbrush to scrub them off. If you are doing this on paper (not laminated), use a pencil with an
eraser.

Cutting Strips
Cut into strips (along the solid lines) and give to your child to cut along the dotted lines. Using scissors is a tricky skill to master and with practise your child will get better and better each time.

Tip: If you don’t have access to a laminator, just pop the sheets into a plastic sleeve so you can easily reuse them.
