Icebreaker Bingo

Teach Starter Publishing
PDF, Word | 1 page | Years: 2 - 6

A fun, getting-to-know-you game to play in the first days of a new school year.

Use this icebreaker game in the first few days of a new school year to help your students get to know each other.

How to play Icebreaker Bingo

There are many different ways to play Icebreaker Bingo! Here is one suggestion.

  1. Students walk around the room and chat with their classmates.
  2. When they find someone who can answer ‘yes’ to one of the questions on their game card, they ask that student to write their name over that square. Note: That person can only write their name over one square on that particular game card.
  3. When a student forms a row of five names (either horizontally, vertically or diagonally) on their game card, they shout BINGO! Note: The FREE square can be used as a part of their row of names.

Why not make the game more challenging by asking the students to create a particular pattern on their game card to win, e.g. make an ‘X’, cover all four corners, or go for the full house!
