Spot the Dots Subitising Activity
Build number sense skills with these sets of cards.
Use thisย teaching resourceย during numeracy group activities to encourage students to subitise small collections of objects. The resource also allows students to practise addition skills such as counting on.
How to use this resource:
- Print the resource on thick card to ensure durability.
- Cut the cards. You will have three sets:- a set of fish cards; a set of frog cards; and a set of number cards (these are โtotalsโ cards).
- Students choose two of the animal cards and quickly identify the number of dots on each. They then add these amounts together and choose the correct total number card to match.
- This activity is perfect for early number sense.
