Display and discuss slides 5-6 of the Homophones PowerPoint – Lower Grades. In small groups, ask the students to brainstorm as many pairs of homophones as possible. Allow the students to share their ideas with the rest of the class and record these on the board.
Display and discuss slide 7. In small groups, ask the students to sort the Homophones Flashcards. Alternatively, allow them to play card games such as ‘Snap’ or ‘Memory’.
