Revise with the students the time vocabulary that they have learned e.g. digital, analogue, o’clock, half past.
Make the hula hoop analogue clock again on the board. Attach the laminated Digital Clock Template to the board, next to the hula hoop clock. Talk about different ways to read and say the time. Ask the students:
If it is three o’clock, what does this look like on a digital clock? On an analogue clock?
If it is half past four, what does this look like on a digital clock? On an analogue clock?
Make a number of different times on the hula hoop clock and digital clock to compare and discuss as a class.
Provide each student with a laminated copy of the Digital and Analogue Clock Templateand a whiteboard marker. Call out different times for the students to write on their clocks. Once the students have written the time on their analogue and digital clocks, ask them to hold them up. Take note of those students having difficulty.
Write twelve times on the board in words (o’clock and half past times). Provide the students with the Blank Digital and Analogue Clock Worksheet. Monitor and support the students as they independently complete the worksheet.
