Moas were large flightless birds that lived only in New Zealand. Sadly, they are now all extinct. Moas had a short bill, small head with a long neck and no wings.
They belong to a group of birds called Ratites, which includes emus, ostrichesand the kiwi. The largest moa were the genus dinornis, which grew up to 3.6 metres tall and weighed as much as 230 kilograms.
