This assessment rubric for persuasive writing can be used to determine whether students are working below expectations, to expectations or above expectations in the following areas:

  • audience
  • persuasive structure
  • ideas
  • persuasive devices
  • vocabulary
  • cohesion
  • paragraphing
  • sentence structure
  • punctuation
  • spelling.

This resource may be helpful for teachers to use when preparing students for the NAPLAN Writing Test.

      Hey Ami, thank you for reaching out to us. The rubric criteria has been openly written to be applied to years 3 to 6. For example, in 'Work to Expectations, Ideas are appropriate, effective and show some elaboration.' This could be applied to all year levels but in differing ways.
