A 3 page inquiry research task in which students identify the advantages and disadvantages of having the Olympics in their own city.

Use this worksheet in the classroom when learning about the advantages and disadvantages of hosting the Olympics or Commonwealth Games.

For this inquiry research task, students are required to:

  • research the history of the Olympic host cities and the selection process
  • identify the advantages and disadvantages to having the Olympics in their city
  • use their findings to write a speech
  • present their speech to their classmates.
