Parts of a Plant – Early Vocabulary Matching Game
Introduce your students to the world of living things, growing plants, and life cycles…beginning with the essential vocabulary terms. Even the youngest of learners need a bit of direct instruction and practise before diving into an unknown concept, so this vocabulary activity is the perfect way to practise those word meanings and facilitate discussions.
The aim of the activity is for students to sort the cards by matching concepts with definitions. Use this sorting activity teaching resource as an introduction to planting seedlings, or when learning about how plants change as they grow. This Science activity has been designed to introduce students to relevant vocabulary.

Print, cut and laminate the picture cards and the text cards. Distribute one set of both to each group. Allow the students to sort the cards by matching concepts with definitions.
