This teaching resource is a project that teaches students about measuring popcorn using imperial and customary measures, including ounces, pounds and cups. Students will study different-sized popcorn poppers and use their mathematical knowledge to determine which would meet the demand for the popcorn that needs to be produced for a popular movie cinema.
In this project, students will learn and engage with:
- imperial units
- algebra
- statistical graphs
- researching ideas and using prior knowledge
- stimulus comprehension
- number knowledge including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
