A five page assessment task for the lower grades, covering opinion writing.
An opinion letter writing task where students imagine they have been chosen to represent their grade as a student leader. They must choose between two main issues and write an opinion letter to their principal, convincing him or her that action should be taken on the topic they have chosen. The issues are:
- Computer games are educational and should be used in the classroom.
- Weekends should be three days long.
Students brainstorm, plan and write an opinion letter based on one of the above issues.
