A creative visual art activity, inspired by Professor Stephen Hawking, to use when learning about growth mindset.

This visual art activity has been designed to complement student learning about the life and achievements of Professor Stephen Hawking. It also makes a wonderful activity to encourage a positive attitude towards learning and a growth mindset.

Students create a self-portrait inspired by the limitless nature of the human mind.

This teaching resource contains a single page profile of Professor Stephen Hawking as well as an inspirational passage that students can consider before beginning their artwork.

    Love this, I have done it at the start of the year for the past 3 years with my Yr 3/4s and at the end of the year we do 'Bursting Minds' and take an excited/surprised face photo and fill the page with all the things we loved and learnt over the year. I stick them back to back with labels and laminate as a keepsake, always a winner! Thanks for the idea :)
