Direct Your Students to Books They’ll Love!

Most teachers are of the opinion that it doesn’t matter what our students are reading… we just want them to be reading!

This reading preferences survey has been designed to motivate students by helping them discover their reading preferences. After all, one of the best ways to ensure students are engaged with their free-choice reading is to guide them in selecting texts that they will love!

The survey provides the opportunity for students to self-reflect and to use this information to direct the choices they make. This information is also useful for the teacher in profiling students’ interests.

This resource contains two separate surveys. One explores topic preferences, and the other examines preferred types of non-digital texts.

Be sure to take the survey along when visiting the school library. Students can then refer to their preferences when selecting books to borrow.
