A poster showing information regarding the status of Sumatran tigers.

Print this Sumatran Tiger Poster out and display it in your classroom when studying endangered animals.

Information includes:

Where: Only found in Sumatra.
How many: Between 441 and 679 Sumatran tigers still live in the wild. (As of 2008)
Why: Even though they are a protected species, approximately 40 Sumatran tigers are killed each year by poachers. Tigers aren’t just killed for their fur; tiger bones, whiskers and teeth are also sold illegally as medicine.
Sumatran tigers are also suffering from the loss of their natural habitat, which has been cleared to make way for plantations and farms.
