Looking for a Natural Resources Word Search?

What is a natural resource? How are they used? Natural resources are materials or substances formed naturally and can be used for a specific purpose. Natural resources can be renewable or nonrenewable. This worksheet will help students determine how natural resources are useful in creating products and materials that we need.

This science word search encourages students to use and identify academic vocabulary related to environmental issues like natural resources and sustainability. Students will use the grid to find and circle twelve eco-friendly vocabulary words.

An answer key is included with your download to make grading fast and easy!

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

In addition to independent student work time, use this worksheet as an activity for:

  • Guided science groups
  • Lesson warm-up
  • Lesson wrap-up
  • Fast finishers
  • Homework assignment
  • Whole-class review (via smartboard)

For students who need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to list additional natural resources and how they are used in everyday life.

For students needing additional support, encourage them to reference previous lessons, assignments, or anchor charts to support them with the worksheet.
