Here Comes the Easter Bunny! Hopping Down the Number Line

Get ready for the big day! Easter is on its way! We know how excited your students are for Easter to arrive, and we’re here to help you turn some of that excitement into learning with a new number line addition and subtraction activity.

Add and Subtract on a Number Line – Hands-On Math Activity

This fun little activity has students adding and subtracting using a number line while physically moving the Easter Bunny up and down the number line. The number line cards are designed to be folded and split along the crease, and then a craft stick and bunny cutout are inserted into the opening. From there, students will draw an addition or subtraction problem from the task card deck and move Peter Rabbit up and down the number line to find their answer. What a fun way to practice addition and subtraction.

This resource is differentiated for students needing intervention and acceleration. We have included two number lines – 0-10 for beginners and 10-20 for more advanced students. The task cards are also separated into these two levels, with green cards being beginner cards and yellow cards being for more advanced students.
