What is a Tarsia Puzzle?

A Tarsia puzzle is a jigsaw puzzle used in education to help students understand related concepts. It consists of pieces, each with a shape and pattern, that can be put together to form a larger shape or pattern. Tarsia puzzles often include equations, diagrams, or vocabulary-type exercises. Tarsia puzzles reinforce understanding and promote problem-solving skills in a fun and interactive way.

Many Words, Many Sides, So Much Fun!

Use this resource as a fun and engaging replacement activity for those run-of-the-mill synonym worksheets. Print each student a single copy and set them to work expanding their vocabulary skills. Students are required to cut the polygons out. They are scrambled, so they must assemble the puzzle by looking at the words and then placing the corresponding synonym next to them.

Students can paste the completed puzzle onto notebook paper in an interactive notebook.

An answer sheet is also provided.
