A reading passage and 2 engaging worksheets that explore the importance of capital letters and full stops.

Use this teaching resource in the classroom when learning about punctuation and the importance of capital letters and full stops.

This literacy resource includes:

  • a version of the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk for shared or guided reading
  • a Full Stop and Capital Letter Scavenger Hunt worksheet
  • a Hunt It and Fix It worksheet.

As a class, read Jack and The Beanstalk. Re-read the text, referring to the punctuation in the text.

When the students have secure knowledge and understanding of how and when to use capital letters and full stops, ask the student to complete the worksheets.

This resource could also be used as an assessment task at the end of a unit.

    And the "g" is a hard to read font!

    The worksheet has hard to read "a" May i suggest changing it to a correct font for students to read.
