Use this yearly wall planner in your classroom to help your students with their planning and organisation skills all term!

Finally  — there’s a printable wall planner that’s designed for teachers, and it’s even customisable for your classroom!

Print and Display Your Wall Planner for Teachers

As teachers, we know not all wall planners are created equal! Many classroom calendar displays have a few things in common – days of the week, the seasons or local weather, the current calendar month (with dates), and perhaps some special events that are occurring during that month. These are perfect for early years classrooms, but as students get older and need more help mapping out their longer-term planning, you may need something a bit… extra.

When you’re looking for a classroom planning hack with a bit more wow factor, a simple 4-week monthly calendar just won’t cut it.

Enter the 2024 yearly wall planner designed for teachers, by teachers!

This calendar wall planner for the classroom features a 10-week spread with interchangeable headings that can be used for Term 1 through to Term 4. (There is also an editable calendar, should you require more than a 10-week spread). The editable event tokens can be used to place important event reminders along the calendar.

Printing Your Yearly Wall Planner Display

Click the dropdown arrow to access the separate PDFs for this resource. Print and assemble the term wall planner using the following guidelines:

  • Print the banner at a size of your choosing.
  • Print the Calendar on A3-sized paper.
  • Print the dates and event tokens on A4-sized paper.

Your students will develop their organisational skills as they can monitor the term’s progress, as well as any upcoming dates for weekly specialist lessons, excursions, assessments and holidays.

Simply print the background and heading banners out. Print each cut-out for the calendar, get your blue tack ready and you’re good to go. Don’t forget to print on thick card to ensure the longevity of your display. You can then use the event tokens and attach them where necessary along the term timeline. Due dates are given well in advance to your students, and they will be able to keep track of weekly things such as sports lessons, library days and assemblies. Event tokens include:

  • Assessment for each KLA – English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Music, Health, Language and STEM
  • Excursion
  • Sports Carnival
  • Library Day
  • Sports Day
  • No School
  • Assembly
  • Holidays
  • Concert
  • Awards
  • First Day of School
  • Last Day of School

These event tokens are completely editable as well! This means you can add in days that are specific to your school or your class.

Once you’ve set up your Classroom Term Wall Planner, you’ll be ready for the rest of the year. With interchangeable headings and dates, your calendar can flow from one term to the next easily.

Plans changing? That’s no problem either! Planning skills for students include knowing that sometimes a planner needs to be flexible. Readjusting the planner is as easy as shifting a token. Your class will see the importance of being flexible when working towards deadlines and will be given a visual reminder of updated dates.

How This Yearly Wall Planner Will Help Your Students

Why did our teacher team design this wall planner this way?

This helps our students visualise the term as weekly blocks, where they can see their learning journey from start to finish. Students will have ownership of their time and their work as they count down to assessment due dates, excursions and the end of term or end of the school year.

Organising your class calendar in a term spread helps kids begin to think of time in a longer ‘linear’ format and move on from chunking it into ‘months’. Not only this, but it helps teachers keep on track too!
