Let’s Start an Animal Research Project!

Hey there, fellow teachers! How about shaking things up a bit and diving into an animal research project to spice up your informative writing lessons? Picture this: each student gets to pick their favourite animal to research—anything from cuddly koalas to mysterious sea creatures. Then, they can create their own animal research books to make things even more exciting!

Using Our Animal Research for Kids Printable Book

Use this booklet to provide structure when introducing students to informative writing.

Students research an animal and record facts for the following:

  • General Classification
  • Characteristics
  • Diet
  • Habitat
  • Is like…
  • Is different than…
  • Interesting facts
  • Conclusion

Print off the worksheets. Photocopy the worksheets back-to-back (pages 1 and 2 back-to-back, then pages 3 and 4). Staple together to create a booklet for each student.
