Explore the Elements in a Story – Student Workbook

This printable mini workbook is the perfect resource to use in the classroom when exploring the different elements of a story when focusing on fictional/narrative texts. This story elements activity booklet is designed for any narrative or fictional text and makes the perfect activity for the end of a novel study.

Throughout this mini-book, students will identify the following elements of a story:

  • Explore the different characters in a story.
  • All about the setting of a story.
  • The plot includes the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
  • The theme – and if there was a lesson to be learned.
  • What the problem was in the story.
  • What the solution was in the story.

Each page in the workbook guides students through analyzing each element of literature using question prompts, draw and write responses, and short answer analysis questions.
