The PMI technique is a thinking technique used to find the positive, negative, and interesting points about an issue before forming an opinion. This enables students to have more points of view to help make a more balanced decision.

The steps for the PMI Technique include:

  • considering the positive points of a particular situation, topic, or idea
  • considering the negative points of a particular situation, topic, or idea
  • considering the interesting points of a particular situation, topic, or idea
  • making a balanced decision.

Use the drop-down menu to choose between the PDF or interactive Google slide version.
