A set of 4 worksheets to help your students identify descriptive language in narrative texts.

Students read the four narrative texts provided and underline the descriptive language features. These include:

  • nouns and adjectives
  • verbs and adverbs
  • adjectival phrases
  • adverbial phrases.

The texts included are:

  • The Cat and the Whale
  • The Hare and the Tortoise
  • The Thirsty Monkey
  • The Wind and Sun.

Answers for teachers are also provided.
