It has been an exciting month here at Teach Starter HQ! There is always so much happening behind the scenes that we thought it would be great to share it with you on a more regular basis. So, here are five things you need to know about Teach Starter’s November 2017:
1. The Resource
2. We’re Getting a Makeover!
Hands up if you’ve noticed the new Teach Starter logo?! What do you think?!
A little while ago, our founders Scott and Jill decided that the Teach Starter logo needed a bit of an update. This challenge was put to our team of amazing designers with the only requirement being that our beloved “Teach Starter Green” remains.
You can read more about the logo design process in the post “Behind Teach Starter’s New Logo” over on Medium, written by Errol from our Design Team.
3. Soon We’ll Be Taking You on an Adventure…
We’ve got a little something special in the works that will be revealed next year. Actually, ‘little’ might not be the right adjective to describe this, so let’s try a few others.
This new teaching and learning experience will involve some intriguing new characters and raise a whole lot of questions.
But right now, we can’t really say more…
4. Creating Connections that Matter
A few months ago the Teach Starter team spent a few days working with Tim O’Brien from Hatched. During this time we articulated who we are as a team, what impact we are having right now and what kind of impact we hope to create in the future.
Teaming up with like-minded organisations and businesses to help create meaningful connections, to share amazing ideas and bring together a community that can make a real difference through education, is something that every member of the Teach Starter team is passionate about!
This month, we joined forces with a few amazing companies and individuals to share stories, ideas and resources that help make classrooms buzz and engage kids in the kind of learning that really matters!
- We teamed up with an inspirational Year 4 student and TEDx speaker Molly Steer, to help spread the word about her amazing Straw No More campaign.
- With help from our friends at Biome, we created an awesome video about how to use Sumblox in the classroom and hosted an awesome giveaway on our Facebook page.
- We shared more ways to start important conversations about sustainability by using Sprout Pencils from Who’d Have Thought, giving away four gift packs to some of our lucky Instagram followers!
5. Christmas Fever Hits the TS Office!
