A teaching resource to help consolidate the students’ knowledge of grammar.
This teaching resource, Grammar Sentence Challenge is a diversely used classroom worksheet to suit your classroom learning while keeping grammar knowledge and practice relevant to your students. As this worksheet is an open activity, it will encourage and challenge diverse learning levels in your classroom. Students love the challenge of planning key words and using them to create interesting sentences.
Student get a chance to implement the following grammar conventions
- Proper nouns
- Color Adjectives
In your classroom you can brainstorm a weekly topic focus, or integrate using the topics that your classroom is learning. Brainstorm how key ideas from your topic can link to your focus grammar conventions. For example, if your topic is ‘The Beach’ and your grammar focus is verbs, brainstorm all the verbs that relate to the beach. Once you have set the focus for the activity, get students to highlight their focus grammar conventions. Students are recommended 10 to 15 minutes to craft a paragraph and incorporate the grammar conventions that are in your classrooms focus. As students are writing, when they include a grammar convention, they need to underline, circle or highlight that word in the designated color at the bottom of the sheet. Alternatively, if you have a different color theme, you can print the black and white version and customize it to suit your needs. The more regular practice students have with this activity, the more fluent and aware they become at implementing grammar in their classroom writing.
