Simplification Center 2 - Simplification of Fractions

Upgrade to Access | 4 pages (PDF)|Grades: 4 - 5

Simplify Fractions Center

In this center activity, students practice simplifying fractions to develop students’ fluency and flexibility, making operations with fractions easier and less labor intensive.

Students roll dice to create a fraction and draw a model of it. Then they use the model to simplify the fraction if possible.

Engage students in this center while you pull other students for intervention or tutoring.

This activity includes clear and concise teacher and student directions for independent center work, and conversation starters that give students what they need to have meaningful academic discussions.
