What Does HASS Stand For?
HASS is an acronym that stands for Humanities and Social Sciences.
Within the Foundation – Year 10 Australian Curriculum, HASS can be broken down into four sub-strands:
- History
- Geography
- Civics and Citizenship
- Economics and Business
Studies of history and geography both begin in foundation, while civics and citizenship education starts in year 3. Study of economics and business starts in year 5.
