Need Ideas for Remembrance Day Crafts? We Can Help!

If you’re searching for Remembrance Day ideas for your classroom, you’re in the right place! This year, skip the standard Remembrance Day poster or colouring sheet and try something new to show respect for our Australian heroes. Let’s make a Remembrance Day quilt!

This Remembrance Day Art Project Becomes a Quilt!

A paper craft that becomes a quilt? Absolutely! This printable template is the perfect way to engage your students and bring them together to create something unique to display on Remembrance Day or ANZAC Day.

To create a classroom Remembrance Day Quilt, your students will

  1. Think about what Remembrance Day means to them.
  2. Draw symbols and write special messages in the empty spaces.
  3. Colour the quilt square in red, white, and blue shades to match the Australian flag.
  4. Cut out the quilt square and write their name on the back.
  5. Combine the quilt squares with their classmates and hang them up in rows and columns to look like a handmade quilt.

This is a lovely alternative to the poppies. My students will love to do this.
