Let’s Investigate Magnets!

Are your students learning about magnetism? This exciting topic has many opportunities for students to explore with hands-on materials to learn how different materials attract or repel from one another. 

Teach Starter has created a printable flipbook that allows students to make predictions, research, and test the magnetism of different objects. To perform this activity, students will use a ruler to measure the distance of when an object begins moving towards the magnetic, thus exploring items with a stronger magnetic pull.

Encourage students who need an added challenge to find additional magnetic items and perform the experiment to test and compare each material.

How to Assemble Your Magnet Flipbook 

• Print each student a copy of all pages.
• Students cut out the flipbook pages along the dotted lines.
• Stack the individual pages in order, beginning with the largest on the bottom and ending with the smallest on top. Align all pages along the top edge.
• Staple the flipbook together at the top.
