Find a Friend with Back to School Icebreakers
Make your first day back to school a fun and engaging experience by using this find-a-friend icebreaker activity.
Give each pupil a copy of the selected Find a Friend page. Have the pupils walk around and talk to their new classmates to find someone who can find a match on the chart. The ‘new friend’ should write their name in the box.
Encourage pupils to talk about the box they have selected. For example, pupil likes to play video games. The other pupil should ask which game or what they like about the game. The goal is to find someone new to talk to and sign each box. This helps foster community. Pupils will find other classmates they have something in common with.
