4 mins | Years: 1 - 2

Introduce a fresh version of the Little Red Riding Hood story to your students with this animated video perfect for younger students.

Little Red Riding Hood with a Twist!

When it comes to introducing narrative structure and features to our littlest learners, well-known fairy tales are often the first texts that teachers reach for. But let’s face it… listening to the same old interpretations of the same old fairy tales time and time again can become a little monotonous for both students and teachers!

Introducing Teach Starter’s rendition of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale with a modern twist! The video depicts the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale through animation accompanied by a modern-day, age-appropriate narration. With just enough tweaks to make the story fresh and to keep your learners interested, this particular adaptation offers a bridge between the familiar and the contemporary.

Also worth noting here is that the video does not contain the story’s ending! This has been done purposefully to allow your students to further develop their reading comprehension skills by making predictions about how the story might end, based on what has happened in the story so far.

(Spoiler: This Little Red Riding Hood story stops just after Red has her first encounter with the wolf.)
