‘Bad’ synonyms include:
His work on his car was bad: not up to scratch, imperfect, faulty, not up to par, defective, unsatisfactory, deficient, second-rate, unacceptable, inadequate, inferior, second-class, poor, negligent, careless, amateurish, shoddy, substandard.
He is a bad person: black-hearted, indecorous, evil, corrupt, vulgar, coarse, indecent, amoral, crude, dissolute, morally wrong, foul, obscene, degenerate, immoral, offensive, rude, depraved, sinful, wicked.
He felt bad for what he did: apologetic, repentant, remorseful, ashamed, sorry, regretful, self-reproachful, contrite, guilt-ridden, penitent, shamefaced, full of regret, conscience-stricken, guilty.
The storm was bad: frightful, shocking, detrimental, destructive, hurtful, dangerous, damaging, harmful, undesirable, severe, ghastly, terrible, awful, dreadful, grievous, critical, grim, grave, acute, serious.
