A cut and paste worksheet to explore sinking and floating with everyday items.

Use this worksheet when learning about whether different items sink or float.

This science activity is a great way to introduce the topic of buoyancy to your students. Students look at each item and predict whether it will sink or float by cutting out the pictures and pasting them into the correct column.

Sink or Float Activities for the Classroom

Students love to see if they have predicted correctly! Make this a hands-on activity by following up the worksheet with a physics experiment!

Use the items suggested on the page and a clear tub of water. Place each item in the tub to see if it will sink or float. Your students can then see if their predictions were correct.
