As a parent, or as someone who works with children on a regular basis, it can be hard not to fall into the same habits of conversation every day. Asking kids about their day at school is one moment in which we can easily default to this familiar one:

Adult: “How was your day?”

Child: “Good.”

End of conversation.

There are some really simple ways you can encourage kids to share a little more with you. The most simple of all is changing the way you ask them about their day! With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of 35 different ways you can ask “How was your day?”.
