A four page inquiry task, assessing students’ knowledge of cultural celebrations from around the world.
In this inquiry task, students imagine they have travelled to another country. Whilst over there they experience one of the country’s most important cultural celebrations. Their task is to write a journal entry which recounts all of their (imaginary) experiences at this cultural celebration.
Cultural celebrations students can choose:
- Australia Day
- Basant Kite Festival
- Bastille Day
- Chinese New Year
- Independence Day
- St Patrick’s Day.
This assessment resource includes: task explanation, research graphic organiser, five senses graphic organiser, writing template and six fact sheets on each of the celebrations.
