I Have, Who Has? – Early Multiplication Game
A whole-class game to consolidate students’ understanding of ways to represent multiplication.
Use this interactive card game when teaching early multiplication skills.
Print out the cards and adhere to thick cardboard to allow for repeated use.
The student that has the sentence ‘I am the starter’ begins the game by standing up and reading their card.
Once they have read their clue, the student that has a card that matches the clue that has been read stands up and reads what is on their card. The card might match a number of different representations. It might match:
- an array
- a picture of groups
- a repeated addition number sentence
- a multiplication number sentence.
The game continues until the last person reads out ‘I am the winner’.
