A worksheet that can be compiled into a factbook containing information about the planets in the solar system.
Students use this set of worksheets to create a factbook for their favourite planet in the solar system.
Create a Planet Fact File 🪐📒
Students research specific information about the planets and record it on the worksheet. A copy of the planet research page can be printed for each planet and then compiled to make a complete factbook. Information that students will need to complete includes:
- planet diameter (km)
- distance from sun (millions of km)
- rotation time (hours)
- orbit/revolution time (days)
- average temperature (°C)
- number of moons
- ring system (yes/no)
- main composition (rock/gas/ice)
- a fun fact.

Students can also learn their place in space by recording their ‘cosmic address’:
- street
- suburb
- city
- state
- country
- planet
- star system (Orion Arm)
- galaxy (Milky Way)
- Cluster (Virgo)
- the Universe.
