The theme for Book Week 2026 is “Symphony of Stories”. The theme celebrates how diverse voices, characters and illustrations come together like instruments in an orchestra to create a shared love of reading. 

Use this word search as a fun activity to explore the vocabulary related to the 2026 theme. The download contains two differentiated versions of this word search. The vocabulary included in each version is outlined below:

• Version 1 (10 words) – music, tune, drum, choir, page, song, beat, band, violin, book.
• Version 2 (12 words) – melody, orchestra, conductor, percussion, harmony, literature, tempo, symphony, composer, instrument, chapter, musician.

Using This Word Search During Book Week 

This word search is a versatile and engaging activity that supports literacy, creativity and community participation throughout your school’s Book Week celebrations. 

Here are some ways you might like to use it during Book Week:

• Writing Inspiration – After finding words related to the theme, students can choose one word as inspiration for a short piece of writing. This encourages creative thinking and deeper engagement with the theme.
• Family Engagement – Send the word search home as a Book Week challenge for families to complete together. This creates opportunities for conversations about reading and helps extend the celebration beyond the school environment.
• Display Piece – Completed word searches can be displayed in classrooms, hallways or the library as part of a Book Week showcase. This celebrates student participation and creates a colourful visual representation of the event.
