The most important thing I have learned as a parent-teacher is that it is perfectly fine if your child is 'average'. For many years I felt I had failed as a parent-teacher because my children were only ever C grade, middle of the road students while my friends who were not parent-teachers had children who were dux of their school, or top in several subjects, getting As on reports etc. My kids are both in high school now, they are discovering their strengths and I just push them to do their best and that is fine with me :)

Thanks for your comment Michelle - that's such an important thing to learn, isn't it! There is so much more to our children being successful at school than the grades they receive. Sounds like your kids have exactly the right support they need :)
