You are welcome to provide your students and parents with these packs via whichever method best suits your needs, including uploading to Google Drive.

Our Learning From Home Packs have been designed to complement the processes and requirements of your School or Education Department, but they should not be used in place of these. Please consult your School or Education Department if you have questions.

Online Lesson Builder

Home learning doesn’t have to be scary. We’ve developed a wonderful online tool for teaching from home that will keep your students engaged and make planning online lessons a breeze. Please welcome the FREE Online Lesson Builder.

Our builder lets you create as many lessons as you desire. You can even access them all from the easy-to-navigate hub! Not only this but once you’ve shared your lessons with your students, they’ll be able to access and download the Teach Starter resources without needing to create a Teach Starter account. Check out Emma’s blog on how to teach online with our lesson builder.

Community Support

We understand how critical it is to support each other during these challenging times. We will be continuing to assist teachers through our social media, blogs and our customer support channels.

Rest assured that we are committed to supporting our community in times of hardship. Please use this blog as your central source of information regarding Teach Starter’s actions in helping teachers, parents and students during this unprecedented event.

The Teach Starter team will continually reassess how we provide support to teachers and parents and will adjust accordingly.

50+ Page Learning From Home Packs

Our team has created a series of free Learning From Home Packs for each year level from Prep to Year 6 to support teachers and parents during potential school closures.

These teaching resource packs have been handpicked by the Teach Starter team to include a range of resources that can be completed at home by children with the assistance of their parents or guardians.

The packs include resources covering the key learning areas of English, Maths and Science, along with some additional craft and mindfulness activities – all for free!

In the event of a school closure, these packs can be sent home with students or passed on directly to parents and guardians digitally to allow students to complete the work remotely with minimal preparation and supervision.

The packs are designed to allow for non-teachers to understand and implement the activities in a home environment without requiring additional resources found in a classroom. The pack can be completed digitally on a tablet/iPad or with pen and paper when printed.

Support for Teachers Affected by School Closures

Teach Starter is continuing to offer support to all teachers by providing high-quality teaching resources. We are hard at work developing more Learning From Home packs in readiness for any potential school closures.

We know that the best way that we can support teachers is by making our materials accessible to all. In order to achieve this, we are offering Teach Starter Plus free for one month.

To take advantage of this offer, please upgrade to Plus here.

This offer will be available until April 30.

Once your free trial expires, you will still have access to thousands of high-quality free teaching resources.

Support for Parents Affected by School Closures

If you are a parent and new to Teach Starter, welcome! Teach Starter provides an extensive collection of digital teaching resources for primary school teachers to use with their students. These resources are professionally designed by a team of experienced teachers, illustrators, designers and editors, to ensure that they are high-quality, curriculum aligned and ready to use in the classroom.

Many of our resources are also suitable for students to complete independently or with assistance from an adult. To assist parents in finding suitable resources, we have put together a range of year-level specific Learning From Home resource packs that can be downloaded for free.

Alternatively, you can search for resources using the search bar in the top left hand corner, and filter by your child’s year level on the search results page to ensure that the teaching resources you are viewing are age appropriate.

If you have any questions along the way, please reach out to the Teach Starter team at any time by clicking on the speech bubble icon in the bottom right hand corner or emailing [email protected] We’re always happy to help!

Business Continuity at Teach Starter

We have put in place a number of measures to protect our employees, both for their safety and to ensure the availability of the Teach Starter platform and customer support operations. We are maintaining a business continuity plan, and we have taken the following steps:

  • We have formed an internal COVID-19 working group to ensure we are keeping our employees’ and customers’ needs top of mind.
  • We have allowed for employees to take advantage of flexible working arrangement, including working remotely from home.
  • As a safety precaution we have postponed all Teach Starter community meet-up events across Australia and overseas.
  • We continue to monitor the World Health Organization, Centers of Disease Control (U.S), and Australian Federal and State Government recommendations and to share this information with our team.

Thank you for your patience and support during this time. We will continue to provide you with the support you need to ensure that your students’ education remains our shared priority. Let’s continue making every classroom buzz!

If you wish to contact us during this time, please email [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

This is great! Can we use any texts in the Plus level to download and give to our students to work from home, or can we only use the ones in the take home packs? Would it breach copyright if we used the texts?

Karyn Lake · 1 day ago

Hi Karyn,

You can use any of the resources on our website to use with your class. Everything is free at the moment! As long as the Teach Starter logo remains on the pages you hand out, we’re happy!

We understand how difficult the current situation must be for teachers, parents and students. Hopefully these packs will help in some small way. If there is anything else Teach Starter can do, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Paul (Teach Starter) · 22 hours ago

Thank you for providing these learning packs. I am a teacher aide and have my children home from school today. We have completed some of the activities and the kids have enjoyed them. I’m grateful to have access to free learning materials at this challenging time.

MELANIE BARRETT · 6 days ago

Hi Melanie,

It is so good to hear your children have enjoyed the activities. Be on the look out for our Weekly Learning From Home Timetables that provide additional support and ways to implement the resources.
If we can help with anything else, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Tom (Teach Starter) · 6 days ago

I would love to see year 8-10

Sharna Haupt · Mar 26th, 2020

Hey Sharna, that would be a fantastic idea. At this stage, we mainly focus on Primary resources. However, feel free to make a resource request to gain votes from other customers. This has always helped us gain a better understanding of what customers are looking for to progress resources into our workflow.

Royce (Teach Starter) · Mar 26th, 2020

Thanks for getting on board with home learning so quickly to help us all with our planning.

Kathy Ellidge · Mar 25th, 2020

Hey Kathy, thank you for your lovely feedback. We are incredibly motivated to help support people and learning at this time.

Royce (Teach Starter) · Mar 26th, 2020

Would love you to make a Year 7 resource pack for Year 7 students. In South Australia, Year 7 students are still in primary school. Thank you.

Jan Riley · Mar 24th, 2020

Janeen · Mar 25th, 2020

Hello there ! These packs will be an absolute life-saver for me this week – with a multiage class at five different levels – thankyou a million times over. Could you please advise me how the students can fill out these digitally instead of printing so I can provide this as an option ? Are the PDFs fillable ? Cheers Jo

Jo Hutt · Mar 24th, 2020

Hi Jo,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that Teach Starter has been able to help!

PDFs can be written on but it depends on what PDF reading program one is using. A quick Google search of how to write on PDFs using your chosen program usually yields some helpful tips. If you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact [email protected]

Paul (Teach Starter) · Mar 25th, 2020

Thank you for these resources! Something that would be very handy is to have parent information sheets on how they can support their child’s learning at home. i.e. guiding them on what their child needs to know in each subject area. Regardless of the current situation, this would be a really helpful resource. Also guidance for parents on ‘how’ they can support their child in each subject areas i.e. tips for reading at home, engaging ways to teach maths….etc. If you have these on your platform already, please let me know! Thanks

Jenna Dee · Mar 21st, 2020

Paul (Teach Starter) · Mar 20th, 2020

Hi there, there doesn’t seem to be a Year 4 pack? IT seems to be an answers package?

Jess Marshall · Mar 19th, 2020

Hi Jess, thanks for letting us know! We have just updated this, so the pack itself will now be the primary download when clicking the download button. Please feel free to try again, or alternatively you can select your preferred file using the drop down arrow to the right of the download button. Have a great day!
