A set of warm/cool colour wheel worksheets featuring the 12 primary, secondary and tertiary colours.
Use this set of worksheets in your classroom to help your students learn about colour temperature and colour theory by colouring in the 12 parts.
The colour theory posters cover:
Primary Colours: red, yellow and blue
Primary colours are the colours that can’t be mixed or formed by any combination of other colours. All other colours are made from these 3 hues.
Secondary Colours: green, orange and purple
These are the colours created by mixing two primary colours together.
Tertiary Colours: Yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green and yellow-green
These are the colours created by mixing a primary and a secondary colour.
Warm Colours are made with orange, red, yellow and combinations of these. Warm colours remind us of sunlight and heat.
Cool Colours such as blue, green and blue-purple remind us of water and sky.
Analogous Colours are any three colours which are side by side on a 12-part colour wheel. This example shows yellow, yellow-orange and orange.
Complementary Colours are any two colours which are directly opposite each other, such as yellow and purple. These opposing colours create maximum contrast. How do I print this teaching resource?
