Develop map skills with a school map-making project.

Create a Map with a Printable School Map-Making Project

This mapping activity is perfect as a back-to-school resource that will have your students getting used to their surroundings again, all while consolidating some fundamental mapping skills.

This project-based activity will surely engage your young cartographers while building their knowledge of map skills and map keys. With this resource, students will cut out and use templates to build a birds-eye view map of their school building.

This resource download includes:

  • blank school map grid
  • school location cut-and-paste labels
  • map key cutouts.

Through this activity, students will show the ability to make and use a map key.
