Addition Maze – Dog and Bone Worksheet

Teach Starter Publishing
PDF | 2 pages | Years: 2 - 4

A worksheet to use to practise finding missing addends.

This worksheet is an engaging way for students to work on missing addends, as it is also a maze.

A Mental Computation Activity

Your students will have the opportunity to consolidate their mental computation skills in this addition activity.

The printable worksheet includes the following types of calculations:

  • adding multiples of 10 up to 150
  • adding two-digit numbers with no regrouping
  • adding a one-digit number to a two-digit number (including crossing the tens boundary)
  • adding sums that total 100
  • adding a two-digit number to a multiple of 10
  • doubling to 20.

Students require a 10-sided die to complete this addition worksheet. They throw the die and then correctly complete any equation that uses the number they have thrown. The goal is for students to help the dog find her way to the bone – in much the same way as one completes a maze. To find the path for the dog, equations that sit on top of or alongside each other must be solved. Squares are shaded to indicate the path.

This worksheet can be completed individually or with a partner. If playing with a partner, each player will need to use a different coloured pencil to shade their squares.
