Track Progress and Develop a Growth Mindset!

How do you develop growth mindset in your classroom? There are loads of ways to boost it and hundreds of ways to explain it to young learners. Here’s a quick rundown of how you can explain growth mindset to your students this year!

Growth mindset is like having a special superpower for our brains! It means believing that we can learn and get better at things if we practise and try our best. When we have a growth mindset, we understand that making mistakes is okay because they help us learn and improve. We know that our abilities can grow and change over time, just like a plant that grows when we water and care for it. So, instead of saying, “I can’t do it,” we say, “I can’t do it yet.” With a growth mindset, we believe in ourselves and keep trying, even when things are challenging because we know we can get better and achieve amazing things!

This teaching resource is a vertical tracking chart to help students and teachers track learning progress. This system helps students adopt positive learning habits and a growth mindset by considering the challenges they face and what resources are available in their classroom before asking for help from the teacher.

Set the posters in a vertical structure, progressing up or down. Students can independently move their name tags to the card that matches their learning journey.
