A set of 30 bingo cards and 26 Auslan alphabet flashcards (that include the corresponding letter) to help students recall the Auslan alphabet.
Print, cut and laminate the bingo cards and flashcards.
Draw out an Auslan alphabet flashcard. You may like to show or cover the corresponding handshape that is featured on the flashcard. Ask the students to:
- identify the Auslan sign and the letter that it represents
- place a counter over the corresponding Auslan sign if it appears on their bingo card.
The winner is the student who is first to make a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line on their bingo card.
Please note: The viewpoint shown on this poster is from the signer’s perspective looking directly at their hands. The view of the signer and the view of the reciprocant will differ. The images shown aim to give a broad understanding of the handshapes required to communicate letters of the alphabet. Some signs may differ according to area or region. We encourage you to cross-reference using resources within your local community.
